See, I'm not the only chauvinist

I ran across this mockumentary over at Pointy Sticks. It must be seen. The truth will out.

Hi! Glad you got my message okay... sorry I couldn't be much help. The only yarn store I really visit in Oxford is Brambles in Headington. Unfortunately they don't have a great selection, though the lady who works in there is very nice. Perhaps she might be able to think of a few place you can visit? There's a list of possible stores you could try here, though I'm afraid I don't have first hand experience of them. Since I don't drive I'm mostly stuck with internet shopping! Someone really should invent a yarn store coach trip for people like me :)

Oh! If you're interested in history, you could have a look at Witney and blanket making. Other than that, I'm afraid I'm a little stuck for ideas. You're right, the festivals don't really seem to be starting until early summer. I'd LOVE to visit the one in Wales Carrie Anne mentioned if I can work out a way to get there. I'm also planning on going to the Brighton Knit In. I can't wait!

It's interesting that we listen to a lot of the same podcasts :) I absolutely love listening to Andrew and Misty, the barn noises in the background are awesome! As you say, very off the beaten track. Also, Misty's talk about spinning (along with Lime and Violet) was what really made me want to give it a go. I'm loving it so far... one day I hope to get myself a wheel, once I have the money and space to put it!

Anyway, enough of my rambling. I hope you both have a wonderful trip. The weather's been very bright recently, and all the trees around the collages are in blossom. You picked a great time to visit! Safe travels :)
